Unshakeable confidence in nursing and midwifery care
Unauthorized practice of midwifery
BCCNM is aware of individuals unlawfully practising midwifery. This includes providing prenatal care, attending labours, delivering babies, and managing home births when not permitted to do so. Unauthorized providers present significant risk to the public, and to the health and lives of birthing persons and their babies.

Please submit prescription pad orders by Dec. 18, 2023 and ensure you have enough pads to last over the holiday break. Controlled prescription pad orders will not be processed between Dec. 19, 2023 and Jan. 2, 2024.

Inquiry, Discipline, and Monitoring updates
BCCNM publishes a variety of professional conduct notices on its website. These notices include consent agreements, Discipline Committee and Inquiry Committee notices, and Inquiry and Discipline hearing notices. While all of these notices are public information, only exceptional outcomes (i.e., Inquiry Committee order, Discipline order, hearing outcome) and circumstances (i.e., discipline hearing) are highlighted in registrant newsletters.
BCCNM's office will be closed on Monday, Nov. 13 for Remembrance Day. We will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
