Survey: Delegation to unregulated care providers

BCCNM is seeking feedback on drafted revisions to the Delegation to Unregulated Care Providers practice standard. Proposed revisions to this practice standard are intended to clarify expectations when nurses delegate to unregulated care providers such as health care assistants. The survey closes on Jan. 20.

Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) update and webinar

Beginning April 1, 2026, the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) will replace the Health Professions Act (HPA) for nurses and midwives. Please be assured that your core standards of practice will remain unchanged, and your daily professional responsibilities will continue as usual. Read more about what's changing.

Exam development opportunity for LPNs and RNs

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is seeking licensed practical nurses (LPN) or registered nurses (RN) who are interested in participating in an upcoming meeting. The REx PN® Standard Setting Panel of Judges meeting is scheduled for June 9-11, 2026, in Chicago, IL, to discuss entry-level LPN activities. NCSBN will cover travel-related expenses, including airfare, lodging and meals, for selected panel members.

The LPN, RN, and RPN scope of practice documents were rescinded on June 2, 2025, and the content transitioned to practice standards and learning resources. To support you with your learning journey, we have introduced two new learning modules.
