Feedback needed on draft midwifery standard

 

We're seeking input from midwives on a draft Consultation, Referral and Transfer of Care standard. It's proposed to replace the existing Indications for Discussion, Consultation and Transfer of Care standard. This anonymous survey will take 5-10 minutes and closes on April 22.

Sharing feedback on rescinding scope, philosophy of care documents

Last month, BCCNM surveyed midwives regarding rescinding the Midwifery Scope and Model of Practice and Philosophy of Care, and updates to the Indications for Discussion, Consultation and Transfer of Care standard. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share your thoughts and expertise on these proposed changes. We are pleased to share what we learned.

Inquiry, Discipline, and Monitoring updates


BCCNM publishes a variety of professional conduct notices on its website. These notices include consent agreements, Discipline Committee and Inquiry Committee notices, and Inquiry and Discipline hearing notices. While all of these notices are public information, only exceptional outcomes (i.e., Inquiry Committee order, Discipline order, hearing outcome) and circumstances (i.e., discipline hearing) are highlighted in registrant newsletters.
