Unshakeable confidence in nursing and midwifery care
BCCNM's 2021 annual report
BCCNM is pleased to release its 2021 annual report.
May 9-15: Nursing Week
Each year, National Nursing Week takes place from the Monday to the Sunday of the second week of May. This year's theme is #WeAnswerTheCall.
The COVID pandemic has tested us, as individuals, communities, and as a country. For nurses, this has been a crisis beyond measure. Yet, you continue to give—of your time, your skill, your compassion.
Update: Entry-level competencies consultation
The Canadian Council of Registered Nurse Regulators (CCRNR) is in the process of consulting with stakeholders nationally to refresh the NP Entry-Level Competencies. Read the Nurse Practitioner Regulation Framework newsletter for activities completed, and upcoming consultations including a validation survey to enable all NPs to comment on the draft competencies.
PHO's updated guidance on mask use and infection prevention & control
The Provincial Health Officer (PHO) has provided updated guidance for mask use and infection prevention and control for health professionals and their patients/clients. Review the details to determine how to apply these recommendations to your own practice setting.
Inquiry, Discipline, and Monitoring updates
BCCNM publishes a variety of professional conduct notices on its website. These notices include consent agreements, Discipline Committee and Inquiry Committee notices, and Inquiry and Discipline hearing notices. While all of these notices are public information, only exceptional outcomes (i.e., Inquiry Committee order, Discipline order, hearing outcome) and circumstances (i.e., discipline hearing) are highlighted in registrant newsletters.
BCCNM's office will be closed on Monday, May 23 for Victoria Day. We will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24.
Due to COVID-19, our office is currently closed to walk-in traffic.
