Kanoga, Jennifer, RPN

Consent agreement

Aug 9, 2024

On Aug. 9, 2024, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a consent agreement between BCCNM and Jennifer Kanoga of Chilliwack to address practice issues that occurred in November 2023 related to failing to follow the independent double check and discrepancy resolution processes for a high-alert medication on two occasions.

The registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. A suspension of their nursing registration for three weeks;
  2. For a period of six months, a limit prohibiting them from being the nurse in charge, working overtime, and independently handling, administering, wasting, or resolving discrepancies related to high-alert medications, except under direct supervision;
  3. Remedial education related to medications, ethics, and professional responsibility; and
  4. Developing a learning plan, which will be shared with their employer and with BCCNM.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
