Consent agreement

May 7, 2018

A panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement resulting from medication and documentation deficits beginning in December 2015 and continuing until July 2016 when the Registrant ceased nursing practise due to her health. The Registrant holds non-practising registration and has agreed not to return to nursing practise until:

She has completed physical, neurological and neuropsychological assessments indicating she is fit to practise, and provided proof of completion of any recommendations arising from the assessment.

She has completed remedial education related to safe medication preparation, administration and documentation and provided proof of completion.

She has developed a Learning Plan to be shared between the employer and regulator.

Upon return to nursing practise, the Registrant agrees to a limit and condition requiring direct supervision and monitoring of preparation, administration and documentation of all medications for a six month period to ensure compliance with agency and federal policies and protocols, and CRNBC standards of practice. She must work only day shifts at this time, and may not work as in-charge or sole nurse on duty. Any charting or practise audits will be provided to CRNBC.

The name of the Registrant has been withheld in accordance with section 39.3 (4) (a) of the Health Professions Act for the purposes of not identifying the personal health information of the Registrant respecting the condition. The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the undertakings will protect the public.
