On March 31, 2017 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between CRNBC and Kulwinder Randhawa of Surrey, British Columbia to address inappropriate conduct in August 2016 of intentionally providing inappropriate guidance to a student nurse on the interpretation of a medication order and intentionally making a decision to cover up her medication error by falsifying, removing and destroying her medical documentation and documentation of others in a patient’s chart.
In the course of investigation, the Registrant acknowledged the conduct. She recognized the inappropriate nature of the conduct and its incongruence with her obligations to her colleagues, other staff and patients.
The Registrant ageed to a three month suspension in addition to the completion of significant coursework related to medication administration, documentation, ethical nursing practice and nursing in Canada, as well as a Regulatory Nursing Practice Consultation.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that these terms will protect the public.
