Nicolas, Bionic, RN

Consent agreement

Dec 15, 2020

On December 15, 2020 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Bionic Nicolas of Surrey, BC, to remediate practice issues that occurred during June 2019 to June 2020 related to the Registrant's failure to successfully complete the required chemotherapy certification for a unit he was already working on including his failure to perform high alert medication double checks. Further, the Registrant acted in a rude and unprofessional manner while communicating with his employer.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to limits and conditions on his nursing practice, including a limit to have one employer and work in a single area of practice; a limit prohibiting him from being the sole RN on duty, and to work as the “in charge" nurse position for 12 months; and a limit prohibiting him from working overtime hours or practice hours above a full time equivalency. Additionally, the Registrant has agreed to undergo a twelve-month period of mentorship; complete education related to professional communication, ethics and accountability; develop and complete a comprehensive learning plan; and undergo a Regulatory Practice Consultation. The Registrant consented to a Reprimand resulting from his conduct of practising nursing in a work environment from June 2019 to June 2020 without completing the mandatory required training and education.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
