Consent agreement

Jan 6, 2021

On January 6, 2021, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Moree Dery of Coquitlam, BC, to remediate practice issues that occurred October to November 2018 related to incorrect client referrals, omissions and or incorrect data entry, and an unidentified safety risk. Additionally to remediate practice issues that occurred April to July 2019 related to numerous occasions of failing to accurately document or omitted documentation of various types (including MARs), failing to administer scheduled analgesia, failing to document unstable vital signs on the Trend and Trigger form, and as such, failing to alert the physician as required, and failing to document evidence of any clinical reasoning or interventions that were followed.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to limits and conditions on her nursing practice, including a limit to undergo a six-month period of mentorship; complete education related to documentation, communication, professional accountability, ethics, and medication administration; develop and complete a comprehensive learning plan; and undergo a Regulatory Practice Consultation. Additionally, the Registrant consented to a Reprimand and a two-month Suspension resulting from her conduct of failing to properly and legally correct an error in her charting when instead destroying a portion of a patient's medical record and destroying another caregiver's documentation in the process in an attempt to correct her documentation error.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
