Consent agreement

Jan 11, 2021

On January 11, 2021, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Charles Akal of Osoyoos, B.C., to remediate practice issues that occurred between June and September 2020 related to working at multiple health facilities contrary to a Public Health Order and being dishonest with both employers and the BCCNM and breaching the terms of Voluntary Interim Risk Mitigation Agreement.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a condition on practice, including: a three month suspension, coursework, practice consultation and a limitation that they be employed only at a single health facility for a period of two years.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
