Adoyo, Malyn, RN

Consent agreement

Mar 27, 2021

On March 27, 2021 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Malyn Adoyo of North Vancouver, B.C., to remediate practice issues that occurred December 2020 related to failing to follow an order to contact the physician with a resident's blood glucose results and escalate care for a resident who was hyperglycemic.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a condition on practice, including: a reprimand for the conduct, a three month period where she will work under direct supervision of another RN, and a six month prohibition on being sole RN, RN in charge, or providing supervision to students or others. She will also complete remedial education related to the professional standards, ethics, critical thinking, clinical decision making, and diabetes care. The Registrant will also undergo a Regulatory Practice Consultation program, and develop and complete a learning plan including obtaining written employer feedback at regular intervals.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
