​On April 21, 2021 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Order between BCCNM and Kenneth Kai Bong Chan of Burnaby, B.C. regarding failing to assess patients complaining of acute pain and arrange for appropriate care, failing to communicate effectively with residents, family members, co-workers, and supervisors, failing to engage with practice support, and administering medication without checking the Medication Administration Record, during the period of December 2018 to August 2019. Failing to use and failing to effectively use Personal Protective Equipment in a facility during a COVID-19 outbreak, during the period of March and April 2020. 

The Registrant has consented to terms, including: a two year suspension, remedial education, limits and conditions upon return to employment as a regulated healthcare professional (including a period of supervision and development of a learning plan), and indemnification of the College towards its investigation and hearing preparation costs. 

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
