On April 7, 2022, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Stephanie DeMerchant, to address conduct issues occurring from January to August 2021. Namely, that the Registrant made a profane, threatening comment about a patient after he spat at her and two racialized comments to coworkers. Further, when provided the investigative report, she breached confidentiality requirements by contacting a witness and asking her to assist in reviewing the evidence and writing a response.
The Registrant voluntarily agreed to relinquish her nursing registration.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
