Consent agreement

Apr 19, 2022

On April 19, 2022 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and the Registrant wherein the Registrant agreed to conditions and/or limits on their nursing practice to ensure their fitness to practice. The terms of the Consent Agreement include but are not limited to:

  1. Limits on practice including no night shifts, and no emergency room or high acuity area; and

  2. Conditions on practice such that should the Registrant return to work in an acute care setting, they will undergo an extended orientation, have their competence for the work setting confirmed, enter into a mentorship relationship, and undergo a period of oversight.

The Agreement will remain in place for a minimum of one year of continuous nursing practice.

The reasons for the Inquiry Committee decision are as follows:

  1. The Registrant provided BCCNM with documentation from their treating specialist regarding health concerns which could impact their ability to provide safe patient care; and

  2. The Registrant has been assessed by their physician to be fit to practice nursing with the limits described above.

The name of the Registrant has been withheld in accordance with section 39.3 (4) (a) of the Health Professions Act for the purposes of not identifying the personal health information of the Registrant respecting the condition.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
