On May 19, 2022, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and the Registrant wherein the Registrant agreed to conditions and/or limits on their nursing practice to ensure their fitness and competence to practice. The concerns received from the Registrant's employer indicated that they were withdrawing narcotic medication and not completing associated medical record documentation and presenting to work on one date, and continuing to work, while they were unfit to do so.
The Registrant has voluntary agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
A reprimand and a suspension of their nursing registration for two weeks.
Indirect supervision consisting of undergoing random narcotic audits to monitor if they are completing required documentation.
A regulatory practice consulting program to address the foundational issues underpinning this Agreement.
Developing a learning plan to address the concerns in the complaint.
The Agreement will remain in place for a minimum of two years of continuous nursing practice. The name of the Registrant has been withheld in accordance with section 39.3 (4) (a) of the Health Professions Act for the purposes of not identifying the personal health information of the Registrant respecting the condition.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
