Wood, Michael, RN

Consent agreement

Jun 2, 2022

On June 2, 2022 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Michael Wood of Vernon, to address practice issues that occurred between January and October 2019, related to accessing the medical records of individuals with whom he had no professional nursing relationship or no need to access, not documenting on all client interactions, not working scheduled hours, displaying disrespectful behaviour towards colleagues, and failure to follow workplace mileage requirements.

The Former Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. A suspension of their nursing registration for six (6) months;

  2. A public reprimand;

  3. A limit prohibiting them from being the sole RN on duty for a period of six (6) months;

  4. A limit prohibiting them from working in a supervisory role and teaching students for a period of twelve (12) months;

  5. Direct supervision of their nursing practice for a period of three (3) months;

  6. Remedial education in ethics, respectful workplace, documentation, professional standards and privacy & confidentiality.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
