Consent agreement

May 27, 2022

In response to practise deficits in August 2020, on May 27, 2022, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and the Registrant wherein the Registrant agreed to conditions and/or limits on their nursing practice to ensure their fitness to practice. The terms of the Consent Agreement include, but are not limited to:

  1. A limit that they only work in a group-based setting.

  2. A limit that they not work night shifts, act as the nurse-in-charge, work overtime, or be the solo nurse on shift for a term.

  3. A condition that they engage in treatment with a psychologist to address the concerns underpinning the Agreement.

  4. An agreement to ensure they are self regulating their fitness and that any changes to treatment must be made with the oversight of any treating professional(s). The Agreement will remain in place for a minimum of two years of continuous nursing practice.

The reasons for the Inquiry Committee decision are as follows:

  1. An independent medical assessment was obtained which documented health concerns to BCCNM which could impact the ability to provide safe patient care.

  2. The independent medical assessment identified the Registrant is fit to practice nursing.

The name of the Registrant has been withheld in accordance with section 39.3 (4) (a) of the Health Professions Act for the purposes of not identifying the personal health information of the Registrant respecting the condition.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
