On July 8, 2022, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Katie Hughes of Maple Ridge, to address conduct that occurred between November 2020 and January 2021 related to assuming care of residents in a long-term care facility while physically unfit to practice and providing medication (Tylenol) for administration to an unregulated care aide.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
A suspension of their nursing registration for three weeks;
Remedial education in professional accountability and medication administration; and
A regulatory practice consulting program to address the foundational issues underpinning this Agreement.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
