On July 20, 2022 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Sondra Bader of Kelowna to address practice issues that occurred on March 9, 2019, related to breaching patient confidentiality by accessing the medical records of a person with whom they had no work-related purpose.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
A suspension of their nursing registration for 8 days;
A public reprimand;
Remedial education on privacy & confidentiality.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
