On August 3, 2022, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Danielle Macnevin of Fort St. John, to address practice issues that occurred in March 2021 during a night shift related to not completing safety checks of residents and answering, hanging up, and not responding to a call bell from a resident's bathroom who was later found by day staff, transferred to hospital, and subsequently died.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
A suspension of their nursing registration for two (2) weeks;
A limit prohibiting them from being the sole nurse on duty and working night shifts;
Remedial education in ethics; and
A regulatory practice consulting program to address the foundational issues underpinning this Agreement.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
