Consent agreement

Aug 20, 2022

On August 20, 2022 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and the Registrant, wherein the Registrant agreed to Conditions and Limits on their nursing practice to ensure their fitness to practice after practice concerns and health-related symptoms occurred in the workplace in 2021 and 2022. The Registrant was diagnosed with a health condition and went off work to seek treatment.

The Registrant has agreed to submit medical evidence of fitness to practice prior to a return to nursing practice and to comply with recommendations from their medical specialist(s). Treatment recommendations will be disclosed to relevant employer representative(s). Once the Registrant returns to work, they will be limited from being the sole nurse on duty and caring for clients seeking care for mental health or addiction for one year. The Agreement will remain in place for four years of continuous nursing practice.

The name of the Registrant has been withheld in accordance with section 39.3 (4) (a) of the Health Professions Act for the purposes of not identifying the personal health information of the Registrant respecting the condition.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
