On January 3, 2023, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Shelley Horner of Westbank to address practice issues that occurred in August 2021 related to accessing the electronic medical records of another person whose records she was not entitled to view, and asking a physician to write a prescription for a controlled substance for another person who was not a patient of the physician.
The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:
- A suspension of their nursing registration for three days;
- A public reprimand;
- Remedial education in boundaries, privacy, and addiction care & treatment.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
