On Jan. 12, 2023, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Lip Choon Teh of Burnaby, B.C., to address practice issues that occurred in September of 2021 related to aseptic technique, infection control, medications, and focussed assessments.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. A condition that prior to returning to practice, the Registrant will undergo a robust orientation and have their skills and competencies assessed by a healthcare professional;
  2. Establishment of a mentorship relationship with a Clinical Educator (or someone in a similar position) who will oversee their practice;
  3. Development of a learning plan including obtaining written employer feedback at regular intervals;
  4. Limits prohibiting them from being the sole nurse on duty or nurse in charge, or providing supervision or orientation to students or others;
  5. A limit to working at a single practice setting; and
  6. Remedial education related to the Professional Standards.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
