Consent agreement

Feb 23, 2023

On February 23, 2023, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Alix Polywkan of Nanaimo to address practice issues that occurred in February and March 2022, related to practicing outside her scope of practice by administering dermal filler and a neuromodulator without a client specific order, without a physician being present, and without adequate additional education by way of a structured course, workshop, or program. In addition, charting did not meet the BCCNM Documentation Standard.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. A suspension of their nursing registration for 10 days.
  2. A public reprimand.
  3. A limit to their practice in that they must have direct supervision of their medical aesthetic nursing practice for a minimum of 16 patients.
  4. Remedial education in documentation, scope of practice, and the professional nursing standards.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
