Consent agreement

Mar 9, 2023

On March 9, 2023, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and the Registrant to address issues with their failure to comply with consent agreement terms related to their usage of mood altering substances.  The Registrant was diagnosed with and admitted to a disability with a causal relation to conduct, via an independent medical report, and has agreed to comply with treatment recommendations.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. A limit impacting access to and handling of controlled medications, with concurrent medical monitoring, to support a stable return to fitness to practice.

  2. Regular reports from treating physicians regarding compliance with treatment recommendations including biological monitoring.

  3. Disclosure of treatment recommendations to relevant employer representative(s).

The Agreement will remain in place for a minimum of two years of continuous nursing practice.

The name of the Registrant has been withheld in accordance with section 39.3 (4) (a) of the Health Professions Act for the purposes of not identifying the personal health information of the Registrant respecting the condition.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
