Halsted, Annette, LPN

Consent agreement

Jul 26, 2023

On July 26, 2023, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Annette Halsted of Victoria, B.C., to address practice issues that occurred between January 2021 and April 2022, related to unsafe and inappropriate narcotic handling, poor documentation practices, and a lack of professional responsibility and accountability.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on their practice, including:

  1. A limit on the manner in which the Registrant may access, dispense, and administer narcotics;
  2. A limit from being the sole nurse on duty and providing regulatory oversight to nursing students and new staff in the workplace;
  3. Remedial education on medication administration, documentation, and professional responsibility, and development of a learning plan to support the Registrant in the workplace; and
  4. A regulatory practice consultation.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
