Unshakeable confidence in nursing and midwifery care
BCCNM's Strategic Plan
Following extensive consultation with internal and external partners, we are pleased to share our Strategic Plan for the next five years.
Upcoming changes to nursing regulations
On Oct. 7, the Ministry of Health posted proposed amendments to the Nurses (Registered) and Nurse Practitioners Regulation and the Nurses (Registered Psychiatric) Regulation. The amendments propose a new area of certified practice that would allow RNs and RPNs to prescribe, compound, dispense, and administer Schedule I and IA drugs to treat opioid use disorder, if they meet certain conditions.

Inquiry, Discipline, and Monitoring updates
BCCNM publishes a variety of professional conduct notices on its website. These notices include consent agreements, Discipline Committee and Inquiry Committee notices, and Inquiry and Discipline hearing notices. While all of these notices are public information, only exceptional outcomes (i.e., Inquiry Committee order, Discipline order, hearing outcome) and circumstances (i.e., discipline hearing) are highlighted in registrant newsletters.
BCCNM's office will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 for Remembrance Day. We will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14.
