Standards Support


​The Standards Support team is available to guide you on applying the relevant standards​ in your nursing or midwifery practice. This is one of the ways BCCNM meets its mandate to protect the public.

As well as providing learning resources,​ we provide consultations to identify the standards and resource​​s applicable to c​omplex situations across practice settings.

When will I receive a response?

We aim to respond to inquiries within three business days in the order they are received. Consultations that are complex or require more information may take longer.​

Is my inquir​y confidential?

BCCNM is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of registrants and relevant groups. 

Any personal information you provide on the intake form is collected to respond to your Standards Support request. BCCNM has the legal authority to collect personal information related to Standards Support requests under Section 26(c) of the British Columbia Freedom of information and Protection of Privacy Act. Standards Support requests are documented and stored and may be accessed by authorised BCCNM employees at any time, including when a risk or suspected risk to the publi​c is identified. Individuals requesting BCCNM Standards Support acknowledge and agree to this limitation of confidentiality.

We acknowledge the rights and title of the First Nations on whose collective unceded territories encompass the land base colonially known as British Columbia.
